“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.” - John F. Kennedy

This means it is important to be healthy from your body and mind. For example, being healthy from your mind means having enthusiasm to do certain things like playing sports, reading or doing your homework. Skill and intelligence only function at the peak of our capacity. When you’re sick it’s always hard for the mind to function because of the lack of energy. That is an example of not having a healthy mind. There are many different ways to stay physically fit. You can maybe play some sports for at least 45 minutes, go for a jog, or go to the park. Keeping your mind and body health is very important because it allows you to do many different activities with enthusiasm. It keeps you hard working. It allows you to function correctly. This is very important because you wouldn’t want to be sick and do nothing.

“Kindness is the essence of greatness.” - Joseph B. Wirthlin

This means being kind is the key to being great. Being a kind person allows people to see what kind of a person you are. The kinder you are the more people will notice you. Being a kind person such as saying “please or thank you.” Opening the doors for others. Being nice to others such as classmates, neighbors, family, or random people. Sharing and talking to others in a polite way. There are more ways of being kind. Kindness makes you great. It shows others that you are not what others say you are. Being kind leads you to being a CTR person. Be kind to one another and good things will come your way.
Thanksgiving Week

During this thanksgiving week I spent my days doing homework. We were assigned to do a brochure for health class. I also wrote 3 essays. I was also told to read the book “Night.” I don’t know why they assign us homework when it is specifically called a “break.” I got to spend a lot of time with my family and spent thanksgiving with them. I also took a trip to the Black Friday sale. We went to Glendale Galleria and to South Bay Galleria.I also went to Santa Monica Pier and it was very cold. Throughout the break I spent my days in my house doing homework. I didn’t take much adventures. The only times I went out were to go meet up with my family and eat. We did a lot of eating. Now we are back in school. Can’t wait to get to winter break.

" If it's not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it." - Marcus Aurelius

This quote means if something is not right you shouldn't take that action and do it because there is going to be a consequence out of it. Think before you act. For example, if your friends tell you to steal something, you know it's not right so why do it. Why take that action and get in trouble. The right thing to do is say no and leave. Avoid hanging out with people who are going to give you a bad name. Another thing is, if something is not true don’t say it. Creating a rumor or lying can affect a lot of people. For instance, saying something about someone that you know isn’t true can hurt that person. Soon you will be losing someone you really cared about. They may also lose your trust. If it’s not right, don’t do it; if it’s not true don’t say it.

                            Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving day is a holiday celebrated by many Americans. This is celebrated to give thanks for many blessings of the harvest. The backstory behind thanksgiving is that in 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared a feast that is known for the “first thanksgiving” celebrations in the colonies. Thanksgiving is known for the day turkey is served. People say turkey was native to North America so, they believed it was a natural choice for early settlers. November 26th is the original day Thanksgiving is celebrated. This day was set by President Franklin D Roosevelt in 1939 and it was approved by congress in 1941.
12 Things I am thankful for are:

  1. My family
  2. Having an education
  3. Having a roof over my head
  4. My health
  5. My life
  6. Having people who support me
  7. Food
  8. Friends
  9. Being able to play sports
  10. An ability to learn and read
  11. Freedom
  12. Being surrounded by the people I love

“Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or losing.” - Chick Moorman

Doing what is right and fair is the better than winning or losing. When playing a game of any sort is doesn’t matter if you win or lose. The thing that matters is that you try hard and are honest about what actions you are taking. Cheating isn’t the right thing to do when playing or doing something important. All it’s going to do is cause trouble to you and others. Being honorable and fair is always the best thing to do and the best way to play the game.
