Nursing Home Administrator

Duties and Responsibilities: Nursing Home Administrators are expected to supervise staff, monitor patients and do many other duties. These facilities provide assistance for older adults who can’t take care of themselves on their own. They take care of others who have severe illnesses, diseases, injuries or disabilities. They need to care and protect the seniors that stay in this facility home.

Salary: The median salary for a nursing home administrator is $100,252 annually.

Education: Nursing Home Administrators are required to have four year bachelor's degree in health services administration, public, long-term care administration and will need to pass the state licensing exam. Before becoming a nurse home administrator you would have to practice working in a facility. Not only does this require education you have to have important skills to work for this job. Many Nursing Home Administrators have communication skills so they can gather a lot of information from one to another.

Demand or need for this Profession: For this employment there is a 17% growth since it falls into a larger category of the health and medical services. There are many job openings to this career and many opportunities.

Reflection: I would like to be one because it would be a great opportunity to get to communicate with new people. It would also be a fun experience and it would help me develop leadership skills.
