“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of the mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong.” - John F. Kennedy

This means it is important to be healthy from your body and mind. For example, being healthy from your mind means having enthusiasm to do certain things like playing sports, reading or doing your homework. Skill and intelligence only function at the peak of our capacity. When you’re sick it’s always hard for the mind to function because of the lack of energy. That is an example of not having a healthy mind. There are many different ways to stay physically fit. You can maybe play some sports for at least 45 minutes, go for a jog, or go to the park. Keeping your mind and body health is very important because it allows you to do many different activities with enthusiasm. It keeps you hard working. It allows you to function correctly. This is very important because you wouldn’t want to be sick and do nothing.

“Kindness is the essence of greatness.” - Joseph B. Wirthlin

This means being kind is the key to being great. Being a kind person allows people to see what kind of a person you are. The kinder you are the more people will notice you. Being a kind person such as saying “please or thank you.” Opening the doors for others. Being nice to others such as classmates, neighbors, family, or random people. Sharing and talking to others in a polite way. There are more ways of being kind. Kindness makes you great. It shows others that you are not what others say you are. Being kind leads you to being a CTR person. Be kind to one another and good things will come your way.
Thanksgiving Week

During this thanksgiving week I spent my days doing homework. We were assigned to do a brochure for health class. I also wrote 3 essays. I was also told to read the book “Night.” I don’t know why they assign us homework when it is specifically called a “break.” I got to spend a lot of time with my family and spent thanksgiving with them. I also took a trip to the Black Friday sale. We went to Glendale Galleria and to South Bay Galleria.I also went to Santa Monica Pier and it was very cold. Throughout the break I spent my days in my house doing homework. I didn’t take much adventures. The only times I went out were to go meet up with my family and eat. We did a lot of eating. Now we are back in school. Can’t wait to get to winter break.

" If it's not right, do not do it; if it is not true, do not say it." - Marcus Aurelius

This quote means if something is not right you shouldn't take that action and do it because there is going to be a consequence out of it. Think before you act. For example, if your friends tell you to steal something, you know it's not right so why do it. Why take that action and get in trouble. The right thing to do is say no and leave. Avoid hanging out with people who are going to give you a bad name. Another thing is, if something is not true don’t say it. Creating a rumor or lying can affect a lot of people. For instance, saying something about someone that you know isn’t true can hurt that person. Soon you will be losing someone you really cared about. They may also lose your trust. If it’s not right, don’t do it; if it’s not true don’t say it.

                            Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving day is a holiday celebrated by many Americans. This is celebrated to give thanks for many blessings of the harvest. The backstory behind thanksgiving is that in 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared a feast that is known for the “first thanksgiving” celebrations in the colonies. Thanksgiving is known for the day turkey is served. People say turkey was native to North America so, they believed it was a natural choice for early settlers. November 26th is the original day Thanksgiving is celebrated. This day was set by President Franklin D Roosevelt in 1939 and it was approved by congress in 1941.
12 Things I am thankful for are:

  1. My family
  2. Having an education
  3. Having a roof over my head
  4. My health
  5. My life
  6. Having people who support me
  7. Food
  8. Friends
  9. Being able to play sports
  10. An ability to learn and read
  11. Freedom
  12. Being surrounded by the people I love

“Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or losing.” - Chick Moorman

Doing what is right and fair is the better than winning or losing. When playing a game of any sort is doesn’t matter if you win or lose. The thing that matters is that you try hard and are honest about what actions you are taking. Cheating isn’t the right thing to do when playing or doing something important. All it’s going to do is cause trouble to you and others. Being honorable and fair is always the best thing to do and the best way to play the game.

“Honesty is the best policy.” - Mark Twain

Mark Twain states that honesty is the best policy. Honesty means telling the truth. For example, when someone asks you about something you have to be honest. Being dishonest can lead to trouble. For example, if you are dishonest to someone they will find out you lied and it will make them lose your trust. When telling the truth to someone it makes you feel good because you did the right thing. Being dishonest makes you feel guilty in the inside because you knew you should’ve chose the right. Being dishonest to someone can affect them emotionally. This can cause you to lose their trust and someone you really cared about. That is why honesty is the best policy. When telling the truth you don’t have to worry about feeling guilty because you did the right thing in telling the truth. The truth doesn’t hurt anyone.

  5. VETERANS.jpg
veterans day.jpgSome things you might do to honor veterans might be attend a veterans day event around your community, hang a flag in your yard, or you can even say a silent prayer for those who are serving in the military now.

There are approximately 23.2 million veterans in the United States. Veterans day was originally called Armistice Day, in 1954 it changed to Veterans Day.

Reflection:  I believe Veterans Day is a really nice way to thanking the people who served for our country alive or dead. It’s necessary for  us to respect what our men has done for us. Honoring their sacrifice for our country is a good thing to do. I believe we should also participate in community activities involving veterans day. It shows respect for our country and the people who served it. It’s wrong to show disrespect to veterans day. Be respectful of these men have done for us instead of taking it granted. It's the right thing to do. Veterans Day is a way of thanking it’s not worth ignoring.

“ He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed” - Proverbs 13:20

This statement by proverbs means the people you are with makes you the person you are. For example, hanging out with a wise person will make you a wise person. Hanging out with a fool who does drugs and drinks will make you a fool. It all depends on the people you are with and surround you. Being a companion of fools causes you to get in trouble. Being locked up because you were doing something wrong or inappropriate causes you to lose your freedom. Unlike being with a wise person it allows you to choose the right and succeed. You accomplish something new everyday. Who would you like to become? A wise man or a fool? Choose the people you want to be with. Don’t be a fool that will get destroyed.

The Gainesville Tornadoes thank their fans from the opposing team. This basketball team had an unexpected surprise when they showed up to the game. The crowds were cheering. They stood up every time they made a shot. The opposing team had told the audience to cheer for them once they appeared. The other team decided to do this act of kindness because the Gainesville Tornadoes never had an audience come watch their games. They stated that they only had some parents show up. Many times the gym would be empty. The opposing team had the crowd cheering for the tornadoes and at the end of the game it didn’t matter who won anymore. They did good in making this choice because they got to experience what having a fan base felt like.
“The best recreation is to do good.” - William Penn

Recreation means to do again, recreate again. William Penn states the best recreation is to do good. This means doing good and choosing the right is good recreation. For example, a person who does good for others other than themselves have energy from the mind, spirit, and body. People who choose to do the right affect other in a positive way. When doing good it allows you to recreate yourself as a person. It makes you feel good within your heart. Being a choose the wrong person doesn’t allow you to feel good within the heart. It makes you feel wrong because you didn’t do good. The best recreation is to do good, it makes you feel good.
