“True independence and freedom can only exist in doing what’s right.” - Brigham Young

Everyone dreams of having Independence and freedom. Brigham Young states that you can only get freedom and independence when doing what’s right. Doing what’s wrong will not give you freedom and independence you will only face the consequences. When you have freedom it means being independent and getting to do whatever you want. How will you get what you want by choosing the wrong. Being a CTR person can make a difference in the way you are living and the way you are forming your future. Being free and having independence is not just something that will come, you have to choose the right in order to receive it. For example, if  you want to go out with your friends and just have fun with them, ask your parents for permission. Do the right thing and complete all the tasks you have to complete in order to go with them. If you don’t obey your parents’ rules you won’t have the freedom, you won’t have that independence. Do what’s right in order to receive the independence and freedom you deserve.

CTR Project

“They’re only truly great who are truly good.” - George Chapman

Goodness equals greatness. People who are good are the people who are great. For example, doing the right thing like being honest, not cheating, choosing to be safe and respectful, etc. are the people who are the most greatest. This is because they make the right choices. They know what’s right and what's wrong. Unlike the people who are not great. They decide to make wrong decisions that later affect the way they’re living. Being honest and making right decisions makes up a person’s greatness. George Chapman states that the only true great person is a person who is truly good. The character is the only thing that matters and that’s what makes you great. The only thing that doesn't make you great is the way you act towards yourself and others, making the wrong choices and choosing to be dishonest. Be truly great for being truly good.

“Many think that the short term gain will be worth the long term pain, but it isn’t. In addition, using steroids is cheating, and there is nothing worse in sports than a cheater. Don’t do it.” - George Mitchell

Cheating is never the right thing to do. For example, using steroids. Using steroids to play in a game is cheating, but still many people do it. People cheat themselves everyday whether it’s in a sport, school or life. When you cheat and you succeed to achieve your goal, you will feel good about it, but that won’t last for long. The feeling of being guilty for what you’ve done will stay with you forever. If a person cheats to succeed they will never lose the feeling of being guilty for what they have done. You only cheat yourself, it won’t affect anyone else but yourself. You can accomplish so many things without cheating. Cheating is not the only way out of your problems. You may succeed but that will never last forever.

“I won’t cheat” - Dale Murphy

Dale Murphy says “I won’t cheat.” Cheating is something a person should not do. You need to play by the rules and be honest about your actions. Cheating isn’t always going to help you get things done, you can do it but you will eventually get caught. For example, taking steroids before a big game, winning and denying the fact that you didn’t take them is considered cheating. There will be consequences that you will face for cheating. You may get away with cheating but you will get caught and it won’t be very pretty. Cheating just makes you a bad person. It makes you look bad in front of others. You can do many things without cheating if you are willing to work hard. You would be affecting others by cheating, you will only be cheating yourself. I won’t cheat.

“Character Matters Most” - Dale Murphy

Dale Murphy talks about how character matters most, more than anything else in the world. It doesn’t matter if you're rich or smart what matters most is character. The way you act toward others. Your character defines who you are. Having a good character will allow you to be determined and achieve what you want to achieve. Dale Murphy always visits the Little Leagues Baseball games and when he does he watches to see how the players play. He wants people to know that in order to win a game you have to play with good character and try your best because that’s what’s going to make them succeed and become better. Dale Murphy uses this quote as an inspiration, he used it every time before a game. Now he’s sharing it with us. Character matters most. Dale Murphy is a baseball player and is a true inspiration to a lot of people. Your Character Matters Most.
St. Patrick’s Day

  1. St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on the day of his death, which is March 17 around A.D. When he was 16 he was taken prisoner and held captive, he was forced to work as shepherd. After more than 6 years as a prisoner he escaped.
  2. The purpose of St. Patrick’s Day is to celebrate the death of the patron of saint which is St. Patrick. It’s a celebration of Irish culture to remember St. Patrick and his assistance on Christianity.
  3. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17 because we celebrate and remember the death of the patron of saint, St. Patrick. St. Patrick was a christian missionary and converted Ireland to Christianity.
  4. We wear green on St. Patrick’s Day because the green on the flag and the clover represent teaching of Catholicism. Although blue was originally the color for St. Patrick’s Day.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!

“Great beauty, great strength, and great riches are really and truly of no great use; a right heart exceeds it all.” - Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin explains how having a great heart is better than having anything else in the world. Being rich, having strength or having beauty doesn’t matter all that matters is having a great heart. Having a great heart makes you feel good about yourself because you can do something that can have a grand impact on someone's life. Think about others not just yourself. A right heart exceeds it all. Having doesn’t exceed it all, it just makes you greedy. Having a heart is better than having no heart at all you wouldn’t be able to feel how great it is to do good for others. Doing good for others builds up how you are as a person whether it’s good or bad. Not only that but it can impact someone’s life and it will stay with them for their rest of their life. If you do the right thing something will probably come back to you in the future. If you do what’s wrong consequences will be faced. Do things for others, and inspire others to do the same as well, a right heart exceeds it all.

“It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today.” - James Freeman Clarke

You decide how you want to live. Making a difference in a day can change the way you live for the better. Whether you chose to do the wrong or the right. For example, if you chose to do the right thing today you will change the way you live everyday. If you choose the wrong then you will receive consequences and it will make your future miserable. Like James Holmes, a student who was accepted to the University of Riverside California. James Holmes was an outstanding student who received A’s. One day he decided to do wrong. He did something very unpredictable, he killed about 12 people in a movie theater. From that day it made a very big difference on his way of living. He was sentenced for 12 years. One simple move can impact your future so fast. Decide how you want to live. You have total control of the way you live  in your future, do the right or do the wrong there’s no in between.

“The best way to predict your future is to create it” - Charles Ketterer

When you create a future for yourself you work hard towards it and you will eventually reach it whether it’s years later. If you work hard for what you want you will get to it. For example, if your future consists of graduating high school you need to work hard and cooperate with others to make this your future. You have total control over your future you just need to know what you want it to be. In order to predict your future you need to plan it out and write your goal. You may want to become a certain doctor or have a career you really enjoy and in order to accomplish that is writing it down and reminding yourself of your future. “Ask yourself is it right or wrong and act accordingly.” - Otto Graham, Jr.

Otto Graham states a quote that inspired him to keep on going and achieving what he wanted to achieve. For example, if you're thinking about doing the wrong thing such as copying another person’s work and claiming as it is yours think about the consequences and all the bad things that will come to you. Think about whether it’s doing the right thing or doing the wrong thing. Act accordingly, which means acting the way you decided to think. Think before you take that choice of action. If you decide to cheat on a test, that’s doing the wrong thing. If you decide to work hard and accomplish your own assignment that’s doing the right thing. When deciding to do the wrong there’s always going to be a punishment. When deciding to do the right thing there’s always going to be a reward. Think before you take that choice of action, it’s always the best thing to do.

“Act well your part; there all honor lies.” - Alexander Pope

Alexander Pope states that acting well is where your honor lies. For example, The Chicago Little Leagues were honored for their outstanding achievement and honored for winning all baseball teams all over the country. Unfortunately it was found that they broke the rules and decided to play students that were not from the area. These Chicago Little Leagues decided to be ctw players. They were no longer admired for their outstanding achievement. If they would’ve decided to play fairly they would’ve never faced the consequences because of the way they act. Act well and do the right thing and you will be honored. Do the wrong thing and you will face the consequences in the future. Like the Chicago Little Leagues they played in an unfair manner and later on faced the consequence of getting their title taken away. Act well your part; there all honor lies.

“If you do what’s right, if you live the right way, you’ll be taken care of.” - Rachel Castillo

Rachel Castillo explains that living the right way and doing the right thing, better things and greater thing will come your way. For example, Rachel Castillo found $36k in a bag and returned it. She did what was right because she was taught to not steal as a child. She grew up learning to do what was right. If you do what’s wrong and live the wrong way all you’re going to get out of it is bad consequences. Bad things will come your way. Choosing to live the right way like being respectful to others and making good decisions, in the future you will have something greater come your way. You’ll be taken care of. Doing the wrong equals to receiving a bad action, doing the right equals to receiving a good action. Doing the right thing never fails. Doing the wrong always fails. If you do what’s right, if you live the right way, you’ll be taken care of.
