St. Patrick’s Day

  1. St. Patrick was the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on the day of his death, which is March 17 around A.D. When he was 16 he was taken prisoner and held captive, he was forced to work as shepherd. After more than 6 years as a prisoner he escaped.
  2. The purpose of St. Patrick’s Day is to celebrate the death of the patron of saint which is St. Patrick. It’s a celebration of Irish culture to remember St. Patrick and his assistance on Christianity.
  3. St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated on March 17 because we celebrate and remember the death of the patron of saint, St. Patrick. St. Patrick was a christian missionary and converted Ireland to Christianity.
  4. We wear green on St. Patrick’s Day because the green on the flag and the clover represent teaching of Catholicism. Although blue was originally the color for St. Patrick’s Day.
