Electrician

Duties and Responsibilities: Electricians work with electricity which is light. They install wires and and control lighting systems. They identify problems and check them with variety of devices. They may use hand held devices or power tools. These electricians bring light to all around your city. Every building contains electricity when its first built. Most electricians work alone but sometimes they may collaborate with others to get the work done.

Salary: $55,590

Education: To become an electrician it requires to get a high school diploma. Some electricians start off by going to technical school. Most schools offer programs that work with students on basic electrical practices. After completing this training electricians are required to continue their education and take courses such as safety practices and electrical code. Most electricians get a 4 to 5 year apprenticeship program. During this time you are in need to complete 144 hours of technical training and 2000 hours of paid on the job training.

Demand for this career: If aspiring to be an electrician there are about 583,500 open spots available. About 61% were employed and 9% of them were self employed.

Reflection: I would be interested in this job because it seems like a cool job to do. Such as working with others and helping others with their difficulty with light.
