Duties and Responsibilities: Dentist are responsible for diagnosing oral diseases. They create treatments plans to maintain or restore the oral health of their dentist. They ensure the safe administration of anesthetics. Dentists also monitor the growth and development of the teeth and jaw. They perform surgical procedures on the teeth, bone and soft tissues of the oral cavity.

Salary: Average salary for a dentist is $123,942 per year

Education: Most dental students need a bachelor’s degree before entering a dental school. Dental schools require applicants to have completed science courses such as biology and chemistry. College undergraduates who plan applying to dental school usually take the dental assistance test during their junior year. All dental specialties require to take training before starting.

Demand for this profession: Employment of dentist is projected to grow 16% from 2012-2022. Some countries need dental care but have little access to it.

Reflection: I wouldn’t like to be one because I feel like I wouldn’t know what to do. I wouldn’t want to experience it because i feel like i would hurt people by just helping them out.
